Down The Road (Live) [Previously Unreleased] With the success of their debut album, Kansas was afforded the opportunity to show what it was really made of on their second LP, the mighty Song For America. The hand's hard work and focus pay off in what is arguably their most cohesive and hard rocking album. While the band would find huge commercial success with subsequent albums, Song For America - now remastered and expanded with the single edit of the title track and a live version of "Down The Road" is in many ways the definitive Kansas album. Ozzy Osbourne ~ Diary Of A Madman (1981) CD 2011 Epic / Legacy Records •• NEW ••

Ozzy Osbourne Diary Of A Madman AUDIO CD BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED Epic Records Legacy Records 88875 10603 2 UPC | 888751060326 1981, 2011 ►Disc made in Germany / Packaged in the U.S.A. TRACK LISTING 01. Over The Mountain 02. Flying High Again 03. You Can't Kill Rock And Roll 04. Believer 05. Little Dolls 06. Tonight 07. S.A.T.O. 08. Diary Of A Madman The follow-up to the masterful Blizzard of Oz, Diary of a Madman was rushed into existence by a band desperate to finish its next album before an upcoming tour. As a result, it doesn't feel quite as fully realized -- a couple of the ballads are overly long and slow the momentum, and Randy Rhoads' guide solo on "Little Dolls" was never replaced with a version intended for the public. Yet despite the fact that some songs could have used a longer gestation period, there are numerous moments of brilliance on Diary of a Madman -- at least half of it stands up to anything on Blizzard, and the title track is a jaw-droppingly intricate epic that represents the most classically influenced work of Rhoads' all-too-brief career. But even if parts of the album don't quite live up to the band's previous (and incredibly high) standards, they're by no means bad; moreover, the production is fuller, and the instruments better recorded this time around. It's not uncommon to find fans who prefer Diary to Blizzard, since it sets an even more mystical, eerie mood, and since Rhoads' playing is progressing to an even higher level. One can only wonder what the Osbourne/Rhoads collaboration might have produced in the future, had Rhoads not been killed in a bizarre and sadly avoidable plane crash. While the genre may have been largely dominated by British Bands, the boys from Topeka, with their unique fusion of intricate performances and Americana found their own niche with their debut album in 1974. Complex songwriting meld effortlessly with first-rate musicianship into both lengthy suites and tight bluesy rock. While the album may have been recorded in mere day, Kansas - now augmented with a live version of "Bringing It Back" - lays the groundwork for one of the most enduring careers in rock music.
